For anybody seriously involved in the streetwear business, the must read magazine is Streetwear Today.
This streetwear magazine goes through all the established as well as new fashion trends, music trends, art and culture.
It is written by a team of German dudes who like what they do and you can instantly feel this when visiting their website.
Why not go there and subscribe to their free newsletter?
The subscription to this streetwear magazine is around usd 30 per year depending on where you stay.
That will get you four great issues containing information about streetstyles that you can rely on.
What I really liked about their website:
- The design and general feel.
- It features a wonderful list of streetwear brands contacts ranging from Asics footwear (60 y/o brand this year!) to DC shoes and skatewear.
What I liked less on their site:
- It’s all in flash which may not be very user friendly depending on the browser you’re using.
- There’s not much to read, at least not much to read for free.
- 75% of the cool brands contacts are located in Germany which isn’t great for an international magazine.

Are you looking for new urban clothing brands to fill up the shelves of your streetwear shop in time for Spring 2010?
Then go and check Karmaloop, they’ve got great designs of tee-shirts, sweaters, caps, sneakers and more.
Official website: www.karmaloop.com
This online shop features hundreds of brands for men and women such as Artful Dodgers, Puma and G-shock.
In our opinion this website is a great place to look for inspiration if you are running your own clothing line.
To get your tee-shirts manufactured go to ECM wholesale private label tee-shirt manufacturers.

I remember my first pair of Fila, they were all black and lasted for about a month skateboarding on a daily basis.
That was good enough at the time (1993) because reinforced skateboard shoes had not been released yet in local skateboard shops in my area.
This post comes under the category The Origins of Streetwear. What brands do you think should fit into this category?
Let us know with a comment.
I had forgotten about this brand until I stumbled upon an article by Nick Schonberger at www.highsnobiety.com titled Fila Heritage. I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Nick for the quality of his blog posts. I wish I was as hardworking as him,,, I’d probably be rich by now.
